A levy tool that doesn't hoard your guests' data

Visitor Levy App was built for the thousands of Scottish accommodation providers who suddenly have a new quarterly tax return to get right.

Why we built it

The visitor levy sounds simple — a percentage of the room rate. In practice it means splitting extras out of platform payouts, applying a night cap, sequencing VAT correctly, handling bookings taken before the scheme started, and producing a defensible quarterly figure. Spread over hundreds of bookings, that's a spreadsheet nobody wants to maintain.

How we handle data

Most software would upload your booking file and store every guest. We deliberately don't. Your spreadsheet is parsed and every calculation is performed inside your browser. Only the quarter totals you confirm are saved to your account. It means less risk for you, fewer obligations for us, and nothing sensitive sitting in a database waiting to leak. There is more detail on the security page.

What we won't do

We don't file your return, we don't take payment to the council on your behalf, and we don't ask you to collect evidence about guests' personal circumstances. Exemption refunds are claimed by the guest, with the council. Our job is to get the number right and show the working.

Visitor Levy App helps you calculate, check and record your visitor levy. It does not file on your behalf. The property owner or operator remains legally responsible for the accuracy of the figures and for submitting the return on time. Always check the figures against your own records before you file.

Try the numbers before you sign up
